We didn’t set out to start an online shop. We set out to help our daughter.
When our teenage daughter was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease, our world changed overnight. Suddenly, every shopping trip became a label-reading marathon. Every meal required planning. Every snack needed double checking.
We quickly discovered that while supermarkets do stock gluten-free products, the choice often feels limited – and it’s usually the same few brands, the same few shelves, and the same few options on repeat.
We knew there had to be more.
As parents, we wanted our daughter to feel excited about food again – not restricted by it. We wanted variety, quality, and the kind of treats that make you forget you’re eating ‘free from’. When we couldn’t find everything we were looking for in one place, we decided to create it ourselves.
And that’s how Grain Xero was born.
